What is an AED ( automatic external defibrillator ) ?
An automated external defibrillator (AED)
is a lightweight, portable device that provides an electric shock
through the chest the heart. The shock can stop an irregular rhythm and
allow a normal rhythm to resume in the heart of sudden cardiac arrest.
The SCA is an abrupt loss of heart function. If not treated within
minutes, quickly leads to death. More sudden cardiac arrest
result of ventricular fibrillation. This is a fast heart rate and
synchronized origin in the lower chambers of the heart pumping (the
ventricles). The heart must be "defibrillation"
quickly, since the probability of a victim of survival drops by 7 to 10
percent for every minute a normal heartbeat is not restored.
Why are AED ( automatic external defibrillator ) important?
AED (automated external defibrillator) make it possible for more people to respond to a medical emergency where defibrillation is required. Due to the AED is portable and can be used by non-medical, that may be part of emergency response programs, which also include the use of local emergency number fast and prompt delivery of CPR. All three of these activities are critical to improving survival from cardiac arrest.
